Overview, Structure & History

Greenway Thailand consists of several divisions, each with a different set up and different goal. Started by Patrick Franssen and Kantiya Suwan in 1998, the organization of Greenway has come a long way in the field of inter-cultural learning and alternate travel.

We have now become one of the leading gap year travel groups in Asia offering a wide and diverse range of programs in the field of volunteering, education, conservation, adventure travel, cultural tours, sports, English teaching, internships and home stays.

Starting with the PSF in 1998, the group associated with several international networks to work towards youth development. It organized volunteer projects all across rural Thailand in several regions bringing into Thailand hundreds of volunteers each year.

In the 2003, Greenstay was formed to take on more diverse and premium programs which specializes in adventure, culture, travel and volunteer. Greenstay owns and operates several centers all across Thailand where programs are organized. Greenstay also offers tailor made trips to suit your needs.

In 2005 the Green Lion was formed and with the expansion into several countries in Asia. The concept was unique offering combination programs and to help inspire creativity among participants and provide innovative solutions to sending partners.

In 2006, Greenway Cultural Exchange was launched as the outbound wing, providing international opportunities for Thai students to experience other cultures. GCE currently offers programs from 2 weeks upto 1 year to several countries.

In 2008, the Greenway Inns were launched in several regions across Thailand to provide cozy accommodation in beautiful surroundings with unique cultural programs relevant to the area.
